USGI Vietnam War OG-106 Hot Weather Cap

CA$20.00

The ballcap goes to war

During the 1950s, the US government sought to replace the OG-107 cap due to its poor reception from the troops. The American Military was going to make a “SHARP” uniform.. Or so they said. After 6 years of trials, meetings, conferences and many many dollars were spent to determine the best functional replacement, they disregarded it and went with the OG-106 Hot Weather Cap instead of the more “trucker styled” winner of the trial.

Due to the enormous nature of the Vietnam War, this hat is incredibly iconic as it saw major usage by the US Military. Due to this however, they went through the stockpile throughout the conflict before switching to the later adopted OG-507 and then getting rid of the Hot Weather Cap in this iteration all together in the 1980s.

These hats are fairly rare today and can be seen fetching incredibly high prices on ebay, in retail stores or at auction. Well, no longer. We managed to get these at a great price and are passing the savings on to you.

Condition: These hats very from unused to used, but are all in good condition with the worst of the damage just being dust and time from storage.
