USGI M81 Woodland Rain Pants
M81, God’s Plaid.
The US Government used M81 Woodland for a long time, and for good reason. As such, it only makes sense that all of their outer layers during that time would have a version in M81! Enter the US Woodland Rainpants.
These pants are waterproof, lightweight and can be packed pretty darn small! They are adjustable using simple drawstrings that can be adjusted at both the waist and the cuffs. The closure is Velcro, so getting dressed in the dark is no trouble. These pants are oversized as they were meant to be able to be worn over the entire ECW (Extreme Cold Weather) system if needed. As such, you WILL need to cinch them down if worn in warm weather, or just grab a size down from what you normally wear.
These pants also feature reachthrough pockets, so you can stilll access your BDUs while wearing your rainpants.
These pants are in lightly used to new condition, however they have been in storage for decades and as such, the seam tape has either begun to degrade or completely degraded in most of the pants. That doesn’t mean they’re going to magically leak, but what it does mean is that you should give them a gentle wash in warm water with mild soap in order to get those flakes of tape off. Otherwise you’re going to be finding them on your underlayers.
