Italian Woodland Patrol Cap
A modern Spaghetti Western.. Get it? Yeah.. you try writing 20 of these in one day.
Talk about getting something right the first time and not messing with it! The Americans hit an absolute grand slam with M81 Woodland camouflage and the world absolutely took notice. There were a ton of copies, with small changes to direct ripoffs, but few actually got the license. The Italians are one of the countries that didn’t bother with a license and just did their best, probably with some US help as they did lots of joint training as a part of NATO.
Enter Mimetico Roma 90. Yes. They literally called it “mimetic Italy 90” (to mimic). This pattern is very close to M81 and unless you squint, will absolutely pass. The Italians also didn’t get a license to copy the BDU pattern and so they made their own cut. The patrol cap is probably their closest attempt. It is very similar to the US issued cap of the 1980s, but with the change being that they have an elastic in the body, so its a one size fits all design - which is actually an improvement in our opinion.
