USGI UCP Fighting Load Carrier Vest (FLC)
The Jarhead Vest that Does it Best!
In this day and age, the LARPbros such as ourselves run the debate over what is the optimal kit meta. It’s been “Cult of Speed” versus “Walking Tank Kit” with Load Bearing Equipment being compared to plate carrier setups… We’ve all seen the SMERSH, but if you’re in the market for something a lot cheaper and many more placement positions, we bring you our latest candidate on the market… The FLC vest. Stand out from your band of brothers with this unique means of carrying your endless swathe of MOLLE pouches. The full name of the FLC is Fighting Load Carrier, and is a MOLLE system entirely, intended to both fit over a larger harness system as a backup, or a standalone ultra fast and breathable setup. A backup will really help in either configuration, and reduce the front heavy load if you plan on maximizing your MOLLE webbing capabilities. Theoretically, you could go hybrid between both kit meta and even slip a low profile plate carrier under the FLC vest, but we can’t attest to how useful/useless this would be. Once again, the choices are endless, and once you take the LBE leap, the choices will be all yours!
Features
Two mesh pockets in the inside for documents or snacks (not chocolate please, I should not have to explain)
Adjustable rear section straps for adjustable height and torso sizings
Front buckle for secure attachment of layer
MOLLE Universal Webbing Straps across entire front of vest allow for infinite modularity
Can be worn open or closed, with front zip up section
An entire belt section that can be completely decked out with pouches (depending on version, some don’t have molle on the rear)
Schematics
Measurements: One Size Should Fit All
Height and Waist sections are adjustable for almost all body sizes
Condition:
Used but very good.
Manufacturing
ITW Fastex GhillieTex Infrared Resistant Polymer
Heavy-Duty 1000D Cordura Nylon
Field Notes/Misty Supply Musings/Potential Uses/Trivia
If you’re feeling adventurous, you can go crazy with all the MOLLE straps, make a smorgasbord/collage of different camouflage pouches. Hell, someone should make a MOLLE rack of United State Army pouches with camo patterns throughout the years, and become a walking history exhibit… You better tag us in a photo if you do this!
UCP is ugly, but the gear is built tough. This is a great and inexpensive way to carry gear regardless of what other kit you have. Runs well over a plate carrier or without.
