USGI M81 Woodland MOLLE M16A2 Pouch
God’s Plaid, but for the modern era.
These pouches are designed to hold 1 or 2 STANAG magazines. They close with either a short velcro strip on the front or a snap button. If you’re wanting uber security, you can secure it with both. These pouches were part of the bridge from ALICE to MOLLE and so although they’re for the “M16”, they absolutely can be used on modern kit with their molle backings. These pouches were phased out relatively quickly for the “M4 Double Magazine” pouch, but remain effective and a viable option for magazine retention.
