ECWCS Strikes Back!
These Goretex pants were brought into service in the late 1980s to replace the previous clothing system made of Vinyl.
The update wasn’t just to the material, but a fundamental change in how layering was meant to be done. Now it was in line with what we know and use today.
The pants were updated with a goretex construction, reach through pockets that stayed closed when you wanted, a zipper front fly and zippers along the ankles for easy on and off with boots.
Seriously awesome.
