US Airforce N-3B Parka
High fashion where you’d least expect it
And now, a little something you least expected. Coming straight from US Airforce stores, right to Misty Mountain Supply, and hopefully soon to your mailbox, is a winter jacket, designed for the military but now sold as high fashion by the very same company that produced it for the military. Alpha industries’ very first jacket they ever produced for the United States Military, the N-3B is even worn by Mr. Misty himself. If anything speaks as a testament to the craft behind this creation, a mere two months following the establishment of Alpha industries in ‘59, they impressively won a contract with the United States Navy and the United States Air Force, not only for the N-3B jacket but also the “Navy Shipboard Shirt.” The N-3 B's intended use was to keep air force personnel and navy crew members safe from extreme cold, rain, sea spray, and whatever cold threats were thrown at it. If you’re looking for the true retro look, consider the initial colour it was made in, midnight blue, or a later sage green which saw extended usage in the services of Uncle Sam!
Despite all of its’ benefits outlined in the “Features section below, an additional plus if you’re a Canadian is that buying through Misty Mountain Supply offers an excellent chance to secure one of these jackets without being subjected to pesky customs fees or import taxes if you’ve been put off from buying one prior.
