Soviet Ssh40 Helmets
First thing is first. The Ssh40 was brought about during World War 2 to replace the Ssh39 as the standard issue steel helmet of the Soviet Army.
There were a few different kinds - the original WW2 Era SSH40, the Post War (1946 and on) constructed helmets and the fairly rare SSH40/65 where they were constructed with a copy of the East German helmet chin strap installed instead of the original single point strap.
Sizing works differently from other Russian helmet sizing.
Size 1 is up to 58cm
Size 2 is 58cm-60cm
Size 3 is 59cm and up
