Soviet "Shock Worker" of the 9th Five Year Plan Award Pin
We shouldn’t be SHOCKED that the Soviets made so many pins!
This pin was awarded to Soviet “Shock Workers” in the 9th set of 5 year plans (1971-1975). A “Shock Worker” was a worker who regularly surpassed the 5 year plan goals set out for them.
These 5 year plans were rife with cheating, hoarding and ultimately led to the economic collapse of the Soviet Command Economy. Oh and to make it better, the 1975 end to the 9th 5 Year Plan was considered an almost complete failure. Damn.
