Soviet MPL-50 Shovel
This entrenching tool has a loooooong history. It has been in use by multiple militaries since 1869, when it was invented by the Danes. It was later adopted by the Soviets and used in different variations until the collapse of the Soviet Union and is still in use today by the Russian Federation (still without any folding handles in the 153 years they have been in use). These are no ordinary shovels. The Soviets built these to last. They are so durable in fact that they have been used not only for digging but for cutting down small trees, a close combat weapon, a throwing weapon for the spetsnaz and even as a cooking surface (though we don’t recommend the latter)!
These are not to be missed. The last entrenching tool you’ll ever need to buy.
