It is a steel helmet that is designed to protect the head from shrapnel, fragments, and other types of projectiles. The M59/85 is an improved version of the M59 helmet, which was first introduced in 1959 with several upgrades to improve its overall effectiveness and durability.

  • The American “steel pot” M1 helmet's webbing system was replicated in the liner of this Serbian helmet, which is fastened to the helmet using rectangular retention washers. 

  • The design was inspired by the Spanish M34 helmet

  • There is a TON of variety with these helmets. Some of Red stars on the front, some have the emblem of the JNA, the Serbian army and some have no markings! Many have names written inside or phrases carved on the outside. Our favourite is definitely “FUCK YOU BIL”
