The Helmet for the War Criminal in your life!

The Serbian M59/85 helmet is a military helmet that was first introduced in the late 1950s in Yugoslavia. It is a steel helmet that is designed to protect the head from shrapnel, fragments, and other types of projectiles. The M59/85 is an improved version of the M59 helmet, which was first introduced in 1959 with several upgrades to improve its overall effectiveness and durability.

The helmet has a distinctive shape, with a sloping top and sides that provide protection for the ears and neck. The interior of the helmet is padded with an improved liner over its predecessor that provides comfort, stability, and security! The helmet is designed to protect the wearer from a wide range of threats. The helmet's steel shell is designed to resist penetration from shrapnel and fragments, while the interior liner is designed to absorb shock and reduce the risk of concussion. The helmet is also designed to protect the wearer from blunt force trauma, such as a blow from a blunt object.

One of the main advantages of the upgraded helmet is its durability. The helmet is designed to withstand a high level of wear and tear, making it suitable for use in harsh environments. The M59/85 is remembered fondly amongst military personnel in Serbia and other countries, thanks to its durability and effectiveness.

The M59/85 helmet has been used in several conflicts, including the Balkan Wars, the Kosovo War, and the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia. The helmet has proven to be effective in protecting the wearer from various types of threats and has helped to save the lives of many soldiers and civilians, and will serve you just as well as it has in the many wars that have wracked the Balkans in the past!

Field Notes/Misty Supply Musings/Potential Uses/Trivia

  • The American “steel pot” M1 helmet's webbing system was replicated in the liner of this Serbian helmet, which is fastened to the helmet using rectangular retention washers.

  • The design was inspired by the Spanish M34 helmet

  • There is a TON of variety with these helmets. Some of Red stars on the front, some have the emblem of the JNA, the Serbian army and some have no markings! Many have names written inside or phrases carved on the outside. Our favourite is definitely “FUCK YOU BIL”
