Romanian "Plash Palatka" Shelter Half
Something something, Romania stole a good design
Back in the USSR, the idea of a tent or bivouac for the military was ridiculous. Instead, you were issued glorious PLASH PALATKA and a blanket.
The Plash Palatka is a simple, but durable solution to wind, rain and the elements. It is a tightly woven canvas tarp with a hole in it for your arm. Yes literally. It can be worn as a cape with a hood with an army out to hold your firearm on guard duty or in the rain or used for shelter in a fixed position.
It features large grommets where you can tie or stake down the Plash. Mr. Misty’s personal favorite way to set these up is with the original soviet doctrine, which is a cross between a bodybag set up and a wind shelter.
These Plash’s are great for blocking wind, durable ground sheets, covering your gear and more. The utility is endless and they will serve you for years due to their incredible durable construction.
