It ain’t Molot - but Romanian Bakelite is just as hot

Polyoxybenzylmethylenglycolanhydride, or known by sane people, Bakelite (bayk-lite) is a thermosetting phenol formaldehyde resin… basically a plastic like synthetic material that’s crazy resistant to electrical conductivity and is heat resistant as all hell. Developed by Leo Baekeland (this is literally this dude’s name) in Yonkers, New York (a real place) in 1907. While the material was a commercial success, it fell off the civilian marketplace around World War 2, but is still remembered as one of the first synthetic plastics. This success led to further synthetic plastic development, especially within the Eastern Bloc in the Cold war, where Soviets used it in everything from Soviet ICBM warheads and spacecraft reentry heat shields to the iconic magazines and grips we know (and VERY much love) today. We bring you today Romanian grips, perfect for your AK style rifle or your airsoft larp, and while they ain’t the iconic Molot version, they are just as good and incredibly similar, as these hail from Romania. We have a large run, and based on the success of these sales, we hope to bring in plenty more Bakelite swag to keep you satiated!
