USGI MS2000 IR Strobe
The MS2000 was developed to upgrade the current signaling capabilities of the individual soldier. The MS2000 not only strobes in white and blue, but also in the infrared (IR) spectrum.
The MS2000 is visible on a clear night at nearly 10km away. This unit packs a punch and is easy to run as it only uses two AA batteries (with which it sports an impressive nearly 40 hour run time of battery life).
To change between visibility modes, simple lift the IR shield out of the way to display white (omnidirectional), to display blue (directional), grab the battery compartment on the bottom and pull down to extend the unit and flip to blue. To change back, simply press the base back inwards, and to switch back to IR (omnidirectional) - flip the IR shield back down.
These units have been used for years not only for hand signaling, but also mounted to gear, or with velcro mounted to helmets. Mr. Misty used one on his ballistic lid for years and usually packs one in his bag for emergency signaling if need be.
These units HAVE been tested and work. May have minor scuffs but nothing impeding function
