In impressively good condition for many such relics, spice up your collection, or throw this on a bag, beanie, or pack for a little extra flair! These aren’t just standard officer pins, these were only given as recognition to officers graduated to honours graduates of the Volkspolizei Police Officer Academy. These particular badges were worn above the right chest pocket on officer uniforms. The exact college of the Ministry of the Interior (OHS des MDI) bore the honorary name “Artur Becker” and was one of the only officer colleges of the Deutsche Demokratische Republik. It wasn’t only a college for officers of the Volkspolizei, but also was used to train officers of other state agencies, including but not limited to the Nationale Volksarmee. All graduates of this college who passed their classes and graduated their program of study were promoted to the rank of officer in their branch. The college is now where the Saxony State Criminal Police Office and the Saxony State Office for the Protection is based. For a low price, you can own this piece of history today!
