East German Officer "Elephant" Uniform Luggage Case
This leather trimmed bit of luggage is an excellent example of post-war Germany. Its overengineered, its classy and its functional all at once. This case folds in half with the two sides being secured to each other by leather straps and carried by a handle at the top. Now, being an item that isn’t likely to be in the field, the East Germans could have made them out of canvas, cloth, or some generally weaker material - but no! They made it out of a rugged rubberized material so it would stay dry. Talk about overkill. At any rate, they will serve you well in your travels! These luggage cases are in great shape and will make you the classiest person at the airport!
These cases seem to have completely dried up in the last decade, I had to reach out to historical groups in order to find any sort of information about them. Absolutely a piece of gear that belongs in any East German collection, or still in use as a travel bag like the creators originally intended!
