East German Leather Volksmarine Combat Boots
Das Boot. Yeah yeah. Hardy har har.
The Volksmarine had two components, reservists/conscripts and regulars. The conscripts were generally relegated to Patrol Boats and smaller vessels, while the regulars were given duty on actual warships.
These boots were issued to Regular members of the Volksmarine. Reservists were issued work shoes or wore their own shoes from home. We even found some footage of reservists wearing knockoff Adidas in a VHS training video. These boots are well built with a leather construction and rubber sole. They have tons of life left though may show some signs of previous wear.
These boots are very rare as the Volksmarine was a small branch and seemingly very few of these boots were ever surplused when the wall came down. They are comfy, look casual and a very cool part of Cold War history. Would go perfectly with our East German Volksmarine Wet Weather Suits.
String seen in photos is not apart of the boot, it is just keeping the pair together. These boots are laceless.
