The source of the OD PASGT is hotly contested online in various threads - with no definitive source found. It is largely believed however it was procured for a UN Mission during the mid-Cold War. What is interesting about this vest is it is dated to 1980, which is 3 years before any PASGT items were issued to the USA who really was the pioneer of the system.
This vest is certainly made in the Netherlands and contains its inserts, but we were not able to find additional information beyond this. It is very likely this is a trial piece.
