Czechoslovak "Duby" Sniper Overpants
In the post war period, the Czechoslovaks experimented quite a bit with camouflage patterns, though few were mass produced or widely adopted. This pattern is very similar to the German Liebermuster, but is distinctly different. It is also reversible with a green dominant side and a red dominant side.
These pants were issued to snipers (as well as a top, which sadly we do not have) to be worn over their uniform to camouflage them. Originally they had “reach through” ports instead of pockets, but they were modified by the original owner to have pockets, though this could easily be removed by a seamripper if you want to return them to their exact original configuration. This also goes for the bottoms of the legs which have been sewn slightly to reduce snags, which is also easily reversible.
There are a couple of minor repairs on the pants and there is some fading and light staining, but for how rare these are and generally well preserved, they certainly are nothing to scoff at. Get your own pair of one of the rarest military pants out there, and at a fraction of the price you’ll find them anywhere else. One pair only, we doubt we will have these again.
