Chinese People's Liberation Army Type-07 Officer's Winter Overcoat
Operation Anchorage but without the giant cool robot that hates communism and throws nuclear footballs
NOTE: Due to the size and weight of these jackets, please order them separate from anything else.
Need a new winter coat that screams GWOT (Global War on Terror) more so than “I run exclusively on Norinco” vibes ? As per usual Misty got ya back! Made to endure not just Chinese but also foreign winters, these officer coats were introduced in 2007 and are still in use to the present day. Only recently have they begun to be phased out for the new series of Chinese uniform that sports the Xingkong pattern camouflage, known as the Type 19 uniform. Regardless, these Type 7s will definitely hold up to a Canadian or American winter without a problem. It will suit the needs of a dedicated citizen of the People’s Republic of China LARPer who needs to match their Norinco kit and Chinese Ushanka, while still looking at home in Mali during China’s operation against terror threats. The pattern itself has many different iterations, from coming in a desert colour, urban, urban, and much more. Some practical iterations, but also a few weird and wacky, like their maritime version, which comes in a bright baby blue. Despite its military surplus make, the colours and styling of this trench coat will still fill the needs of a more casual need, without looking too over the top. Spacious, roomy, stylish and affordable, this jacket is the choice of comrades.
People’s Liberation Army Type 07
The Type 07 series of uniform’s name is a reference to the year it’s inception, being shown off in late 2007, during the 10th anniversary of the Chinese exchange with the United Kingdom for ownership of Hong Kong. Despite being a new style for the modern era, this series takes heavy inspiration from more dated styles, particularly that of the USSR Soviet Army, navy, and air force. A striking feature of this series is the uniform’s cuff insignia that are made up of stripes indicating years of service in the Chinese Military, the first of its type in the People’s Liberation Army.
Features
Thick windproof threading for those important moments staring whimsically onto a snowy battlefield
Two deep dual waist buttons for the officer who needs to hold extra magazines for (redacting) deserters
Interior sewn-in-lining for additional warmth
Thick faux-fur neck liner
Shoulder boards buttons allow for removal or attachment of rank boards
Schematics
Measurements:
These jackets state on the inside that they are meant for a wearer of 170cm height and a chest no greater than 96cm. This is NOT accurate for height. We are much taller than this and it still came well past our knees. Its fair to say that lengthwise this will fit someone up to 6’1”, though the arms will fit a bit short if you’re over 6’ in our opinion. In our photo gallery, Misty is wearing the coat and you can see how it fits on him. He is 5’11” and 180lbs and it leaves lots of room on him.
Condition:
New Old Surplus Stock, may have some minor grime from storage or small defects. A good wash should right most if not all of them.
Manufacturing
Eighty Percent Wool Build
Field Notes/Misty Supply Musings/Potential Uses/Trivia
The perfect fit for fighting for control of Anchorage, Alaska. Just don’t let your stealthboy fizzle out when Liberty Prime is around.
