It was likely used to train reloading magazines and the feedpath of the Sten Gun and High-Power Pistol. All are stamped “DI” meaning “ Defence Industries LTD. A company that began producing 9mm ammunition in Canada for commonwealth forces in 1942.
All headstamps denote a production year of either 1942 or 1943.
