British DPM Windproof Smock (Hooded)

CA$60.00

DPM FOR DAYS BABY

Oh man, if these smocks aren’t the coolest things out there. The name makes you think of an artist, and in a sense, when wearing one, you are ready to paint a certain piece of art with your , uh, sporting equipment… while wearing this smock, the sound of your instrument turns you into a maestro of [REDACTED]. So in a sense, it is the perfect apparel for an unconventionally labeled artist. With so many features we could write an essay, we’ll instead leave you to browse the “features” section below. With a build intended to be easily folded and stowed in kit, such as a thin yet resilient material build and a wire hood, this is a great choice for every environment where the wind won’t stop winding when you least expect it to!

DPM (Disruptive Pattern Material)

The immortal and timeless camouflage of the British Isles, DPM, or Disruptive Pattern Material, spent fifty years in service before phased out by the current camo, MTP or Multi-Terrain Pattern (A combination of multi-cam and DPM). “The Denison Smock” was the first British Kit to see application of this camouflage, hand painted on by Commandos in the ‘40s. Eventually, DPM saw standard adoptions in the ‘60s consisting of a smock, pants, and a detachable hood.

The main iterations of Disruptive pattern Material are a woodland pattern version, desert patterns versions, urban DPM versions, and rarer iterations such as blue and even purple variants.

Features

  • Wire running through hood allows it to be shaped and snuggly stowed when not in use

  • Two dual button up breast pockets

  • Two dual button up waist pockets

  • Two dual zippered chest pockets between aforementioned breast pockets

  • Zippered front of jacket with additional single button securing

  • High collared neck section to provide additional wind resistance

  • Multiple velcro strips on arms and chest, some smocks may include rank, flag and name patches sewn on or attached

  • Drawstring section on hood to provide snug fit for those extra windy days

  • Windproof build ensures resistance to the environment elements on top of the DDPM camouflage resistance to hostile elements

  • Water repellent treatment provides resistance to rain and is renewable in the case of deterioration
