British Army Flak Vests (With Soft Inserts)
Only things that don’t go hard with this fit are the inserts…
A relic from the GWOT (Global War on Terrorism), we bring you Flak Vests, from His Majesty’s Armed Forces, (Formerly Her…). This ain’t your everyday piece of kit, and even for us, this is a rare treat, being not only a rare relic of our last global conflict, but also coming with ALL of the soft plates originally equipped with. Modular, stylish, and easy to slip in and out of, this list of benefits could be an essay. On top of all that we have the option of multiple sizes, AND the choice of DPM (Disruptive Pattern Material) or DDPM (Desert Disruptive Pattern Material).
The soft plates included are British Filler Combat Body Armour Mk I. The cover keeps the ballistic filler dry, as water has a habit of not only increasing the weight of the filler but also degrading their ballistic properties. It was designed with the intent of stopping low velocity shrapnel and low calibre pistol rounds such as 9mm. It was not rated to provide protection from rifles common to the GWOT such as 7.62 x 39. While cover for the British Filler Combat Body Armour Mk I, these soft inserts have become progressively rarer and rarer.

Field Notes/Misty Supply Musings/Potential Uses/Trivia
The extra large front pocket was originally designed to carry a steel plate, but from Misty Mountain experience, that plate is both rare, expensive, and a staggering ~10lbs… instead, consider a less outdated and more viable option by using a small side plate, much like the ones offered by Canadian Company Aratech. Feel free to send an email through https://mistymountainsupply.com/contact if you are interested, and we can have one for you in no time at all!
Please note that soft plates are intended to be kept for collectors purposes, and Misty Mountain Supplies does not advice the use of this item for ballistic protection
