As usual, the Austrians get it right.
Listen. We all know Austrian gear is nice. That said, these are TOP notch. They’re a cotton canvas shell with leather palms and thumbs AND they are goretex lined. This makes them waterproof, windproof and extra good at keeping in heat. Throw in that you can cinch down the wrists, they include a lanyard and that they’re OD Green (which is very based) - it doesn’t get better than this.
That said - these are SHELLS. They do not have any insulation in them. They are a PERFECT match for our Outdoor Research Firebrand Mittens.
